Saving Money: Easier Said than Done | 5 Ways on How to Succeed in Saving

Always save, a phrase that has been taught and passed on to us by our parents and grandparents.  We even tried to save using piggy bank when we were a kid.  Not only kids but also some adults until now use piggy bank to save.

People with different status differ as well in saving money.  There are some who save by putting money to "paluwagan" (a money saving and lending scheme popular to average Filipinos), others to bank accounts and time deposits.

Originally published by Hachette Book Group in New York, with first international mass market edition on October 2014, and a New York Times Bestseller, this book is a non-fiction, Wall Street story written by Greg Smith, former Goldman Sachs banker.  It's a must-read for those who are interested in Finance, stocks, stock trading, stock market; and who wants to work or just starting their career in investment bank.

Goldman Sachs is "an American multinational investment banking firm that engages in global investment banking, securities, investment management, and other financial services primarily with institutional clients" (Wikipedia).

Philippine Finance Magazines | Forbes Philippines and MoneySense

I remember when I visited my aunt's new house, not only the picturesque architecture and interior design caught my attention but also her wide collection of books and magazines.  By the way, my aunt was a retired World Bank officer.  I used to collect books but not magazine.  Though quite impractical since books are prone to deterioration particularly those cheap paperback books, I'm still not fond reading on tablets and other devices.  It's not that I'm old fashioned but I'm having eye strain from reading on such devices for so long.

I actually imitated my aunt when I started collecting magazines.  Her collections are more about interior design, travel and national geographic.  Mine are finance and business related of course.  Compared to books, it's easy to remove dust from magazines.

Stock Trading for Beginners | Learning about Stocks and Stock Market

Before I proceed, let me just tell you this..

What I'm going to discuss here is not actually the Stock Trading 101.  I'm basically sharing what I've done and how I did to learn and become a stock trader.  I  won't give you the specifics because I believe that I myself has still more to learn.  As I've mentioned, I'm not a finance major.  I as well don't have any experience working as a trader.  It's just pure interest, merely for personal finance.  For those who are just starting to do stock trading, I'm only ahead of you a bit I guess.  Don't underestimate yourselves.  We are now in the age of internet where there is an ease to access various information.  The probability of success in self studying is very high.  It's indeed a matter of determination, strategy and patience.

Stock Trading for Beginners | Introduction

Since I'm an accountancy graduate from a state university and with non-business family background, I find stock trading unfamiliar.  And though I'm connected with a bank, the task I do there is not related to finance, stocks or stock market.  I'm interested in stock trading despite being foreign believing it will provide me extra or more money in which compensation or interest on savings account will not suffice to achieve my financial goals.

I became an investor, stock trader and investment savvy through self study.  And to how, will be gladly shared to you in this site.  But remember, the success of learning and understanding depends on you.  Determination is one of the keys.
