Wall Street Book | Why I Left Goldman Sachs by Greg Smith

Originally published by Hachette Book Group in New York, with first international mass market edition on October 2014, and a New York Times Bestseller, this book is a non-fiction, Wall Street story written by Greg Smith, former Goldman Sachs banker.  It's a must-read for those who are interested in Finance, stocks, stock trading, stock market; and who wants to work or just starting their career in investment bank.

Goldman Sachs is "an American multinational investment banking firm that engages in global investment banking, securities, investment management, and other financial services primarily with institutional clients" (Wikipedia).

Greg Smith, the author tells his story from when he first arrived at Goldman Sachs as intern in year 2000 until he resigned as head of U.S. Equity Derivatives business in Europe, Middle East, and Africa in year 2012.  In this book, Smith was able to let the readers explore what is really going on in the market, what is like being in a workplace at a large multinational firm such as Goldman Sachs headquartered in developed countries, in city such as New York and London.  Anyway, book actually takes you to time and places that is quite comprehensive than having an actual short visit I think.  And, this book is one of the examples.

Readers of this book need not be intelligible in Finance.  Smith though uses "trader-speak" words, he immediately explained it and some are included in glossary found at the last part of his book.  Also, Smith speaks his view about leadership, values and ethics.  His persuasion and insight are informative in which we could apply to our daily business lives.
